Professional Diploma in Port & Terminal Operations, Safety & Digitalization
The Professional Diploma in Port & Terminal Operations, Safety & Digitalization builds endtoend
capability to plan, run, and continuously improve modern marine terminals.
Course Overview
The Professional Diploma in Port & Terminal Operations, Safety & Digitalization builds endtoend
capability to plan, run, and continuously improve modern marine terminals. Participants master safe
operations across container, bulk, liquid, and RoRo cargo; implement terminal operating systems
(TOS); integrate port community systems (PCS); and apply data, automation, and cybersecurity
controls to deliver throughput, reliability, and compliance.
Why This Course is Important?
- Trade backbone: Efficient, safe terminals reduce logistics cost and drive national competitiveness.
- Zeroharm imperative: Strong HSE and process safety prevent incidents in highhazard environments.
- Digital advantage: Data, IoT, and automation unlock capacity, predictability, and customer trust.
- Career acceleration: Equips professionals for roles in terminal operations, safety leadership, and digital transformation.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
- Plan berth, quay crane, yard, and gate operations to hit service windows and KPIs.
- Implement HSE, ISPS/ISM, and process safety controls for marine and landside operations.
- Configure and govern TOS/PCS workflows (vessel/yard planning, EDI, customs, billing).
- Apply lean/continuous improvement, bottleneck analysis, and simulation to increase throughput.
- Deploy digital tools—IoT telemetry, RTLS, digital twins, predictive maintenance, analytics dashboards.
- Manage cyber risks across OT/IT (IEC 62443, ISO 27001) and ensure data/operational resilience.
- Lead multistakeholder change with shipping lines, pilots, customs, trucking, and 3PLs.
Target Audience
- Terminal & Port Operations Managers / Supervisors
- Marine HSE Managers, Process Safety & Emergency Response Leads
- TOS/PCS Product Owners, Data/IT/OT Engineers
